Flow
Data has developed a unique data acquisition instrument - the
DAFI (Digital Air flow Instrument). The DAFI calculates
instantaneous volumetric air flow using Vortex flow technology, and is equipped to read data
from other instruments on the job site, such as pressures,
temperatures, alternate flow meters, etc.
The DAFI displays
data on an operator interface and records the data in its
memory. This data can be recorded and saved for up to nine
months before downloading. The sample rate for data
logging can vary from once a minute to once an hour. |

Brief Description of DAFI Electronic Flow
Computer/Data Acquisition System |
|
|
Basic D.A.F.I. Electronic Flow Computer |
|
System Description:
The D.A.F.I. electronic flow computer
uses Vortex technology to calculate the
volumetric flow rate of air flowing
through a two inch meter run. The
flow rate is compensated for
temperature, static pressure, and
atmospheric pressure. The flow
rate and pressure are displayed locally
in scfm and psig. |

D.A.F.I. DAQ Electronic
Flow Computer/Data Acquisition System |
System
Description:
The D.A.F.I. electronic
flow computer uses Vortex technology to
calculate the volumetric flow rate of
air flowing through a two inch meter
run. The flow rate is compensated
for temperature, static pressure, and
atmospheric pressure. All of the
current “live” data is displayed locally
along with additional inputs such as
fluid flow rate in GPM, typically from a
Mist Pump, and remote or injection point
pressure. Additional inputs can be
easily added, displayed and recorded.
The data is stored in the PLC and is
“broadcasted” live to a web page.
The “web page” signal is sent out
through a built in Ethernet radio.
A second Ethernet radio receives the
signal and sends it via a Cat. 5 cable
to a laptop or PC. Flow Data
provides a laptop computer with the
necessary software for displaying and
reporting all of the data provided by
the flow computer and its associated
instruments. A printer is also
provided to print out reports locally. |

DAQ Electronic Flow Computer/Data
Acquisition System with 1” Magnetic Flow
Meter |
System Description:
Flow
Data. Inc will provide all of the
equipment described below. |
|
Major Components |
-
All the major components described
above in D.A.F.I. DAQ plus
-
1" Magnetic Flow Meter
-
Cables, plugs, receptacles, and
wiring necessary to read fluid flow
rate (water) at rates between 0 and
50 gpm.

D.A.F.I.
DAQ Electronic Flow Computer/Data
Acquisition System with 2” Automatic
Bypass Valve |
System Description:
Flow
Data. Inc will provide all of the
equipment described above in the basic
D.A.F.I. DAQ description. Flow
Data. Inc will also provide a 2”
Automatic Bypass Valve, cabling, wiring,
and necessary additional programming.
The Automatic Bypass Valve is designed
and programmed to control the flow rate
flowing through the flow computer to a
specified “set point”. The
set point is specified by the operator
and can be changed at the flow computer
or from the laptop PC provided by Flow
Data. Inc. The bypass valve
automatically opens and closes minutely
to bypass excess air flow to maintain
the set-point flow rate as it passed
through the meter run. The bypass
valve is placed 20 to 30 feet
“up-stream” of the flow computer.
